Lesson 10: ICT as Platform for Change

         

          

          With our 10th lesson in Empowerment Technology, ICT as Platform for Change, I was able to know that we can use ICT to change the world for the better. Through the past years, ICT really contributed change in our history. From simple radio broadcasts, text brigades, and social media connections, we are able to come up with a change in our society. Align with creating change, we were taught on how to make petitions, which can help us to advocate what we want to change for the future using the website Change.org.

          What are the implications of media and information to an individual?

In terms of everyday lives, the media is a staple to everyone who has access to it. Since almost everyone gets exposed to a certain form of media every single day, may it be through television or the many applications linking to social media, information spreads wide and it spreads quick. This becomes a problem when people spread fake information which makes people who intake it and believe it as misinformed.

Lesson 9: Interactive Multimedia

                 With our 9th lesson in Empowerment Technology, Interactive Multimedia, I was able to learn about Interactive Multimedia. Like how it can affect our daily living and on how it can iprove it. With Interactive Multimedia, we are able to interact with the media we are using, thus, increasing the knowledge, usage, etc. of that media to ourselves. Interactive Multimedia is all around us, it is inevitable, so we must know how it can be used proficiently

Lesson 8: Collaborative Design

          

            With our 8th lesson in Empowerment Technology, Collaborative Design, I have learned to use collaborative tools effectively observe our group tasks to become more efficient and productive. I learned the different advantages of using these collaborative design tools and was able to create a project  that was required team collaborative effort

Lesson 7: Online Platforms as Tools for ICT Content and Development

          With our 7th lesson in Empowerment Technology, Online Platforms as Tools for ICT Content and Development, I have learned to know the different types of online platforms, their uses, and their purpose. It can help us students to know what we can utilize on the internet to make our work easier. We also learned the web design principles and elements using different creation tools, applications, or platforms. It can help us to improve our content so that the viewers may enjoy it.

Lesson 6: Imaging and Design for Online Environment

          

          With our lastest lesson in Empowerment Technology, Imaging and Design for Online Environment, I was able to understand the basic principles of graphics and layout. With that, I was able to create an infographic about myself using web tools but I was only successful because I was taught about the uses of several file formats used on the web. I cannot create an infographic without knowing how to manipulate images, but this lesson helped me to. Photo below is my infographic. 

       

Lesson 5: Advanced Presentation Skills

          With our fifth lesson in Empowerment Technology, Advanced Presentation Skills, I was able to learn features of Microsoft PowerPoint that I didn't know of. I was able to use hyperlinks in MS PowerPoint to improve my presentation. I was taught on how to embed files and data into my presentation and to maximize MS PowerPoint itself as a powerful and effective visual aid tool for students like me.

Lesson 4: Advanced Spreadsheet Skills

          With our fourth lesson in Empowerment Technology, Advanced Spreadsheet Skills, I was able to be familiarize with the functions and uses of Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet program. I learned different conditional functions that can be used to make our computation easier. In the end, I was able to make use of the MS Excel as a good spreadsheet program, to use it for marketing purposes, and etc.

Lesson 3: Advanced Word Processing Skills

          With our third lesson in Empowerment Technology, Advance Word Processing Skills, I learned to make use the advanced techniques that we can use to maximize the capabilities of what the Microsoft Word can do, which can increase our productivity and efficiency on using it. I was able to effectively use these advanced techniques to improve my productivity such as creating form letters for distribution to other recipients with the help of mail merge. With that, I was able to make professional letters and documents.

Lesson 2: Rules of Netiquette

          

          With our second lesson in Empowerment Technology, Rules of Netiquette, I learned on how to consider my safety and others safety when it comes to sharing personal information online. It is also important to consider ones reputation on the Internet. Most importantly, it taught me how to be careful on using social media sites like what information should I put up online. This lesson, also reminded us to be responsible when using the Internet, and always cite our references to avoid plagiarism.

Lesson 1: Introduction to Information and Communication Technologies

          As our first lesson for our Empowerment Technology, it really improved my knowledge regarding Information and Communication Technology as a whole. It showed me how it affects our daily lives and our whole world. I also learned how to differentiate the differences between online platforms, site, and other contents that can be found on the Internet. With that, I understood how Web 2.0 works and the future of World Wide Web with the help of Web 3.0. And most importantly, I learned about the trends regarding ICT and how I can make use of them as an advantage in my daily life.
